Eckhart Tolle Silent
Group in Toronto
When:
7:30-9:30 pm every Wednesday
Cost: your time
What:
This group will follow Eckhart Tolles recommendations that the group
begin with ten to twenty minutes of silence (we will be offering a
musical meditation during this segment), 1 to 1 1/2 hours of an Eckhart
Tolle audio or visual recording (see below for more information), ending
with ten to twenty minutes of silence (silent meditation). It is best
not to engage in discussion, as it tends to stimulate the mind and ego.
Where:
401 Richmond St. West, Suite 384 (for a map and information on parking
please visit www.401richmond.net)
Contact: Robert Helmer at rob@roberthelmer.ca or 416-537-1413

We
will begin with Echart's Teaching . . .
Know That "I Am" - Reaching a New State of Consciousness
Describing himself as a midwife, Eckhart Tolle assists us in the
birthing process of a new state of consciousness. For those new to
Eckhart's teachings this series is a perfect introduction.
Those
who are familiar with his teachings will hear him speak in new terms,
deepening their awareness of the Now. Listen as Eckhart gives us a
beautiful mantra, a continuous meditation and pointers for weaning from
identification with time and thought to a realization of the truth of
who you are.
Lessons contained in this series:
-
Portals to Presence
- The state of not knowing
- Resistance to what is
- The two motivations to thought
- The pain-body in intimate relationships
Eckhart Tolle has emerged as one of the world's finest spiritual
teachers of our time. His books, The Power of Now, Practicing the Power
of Now, Stillness Speaks, and A New Earth, are international
bestsellers, and his talks draw large crowds around the world.

WOMEN'S DAY OF NOURISHMENT & WELL-BEING
Sunday, January 17, 1:30-5 pm -- TORONTO
This is a
time to retreat from the busyness of our lives and engage in a deep
process of relaxation and renewal. We'll begin with gentle movement and
meditative practices to still the mind and body, then explore other ways
to access deep nourishment, including collage making and journal
writing. There will also be an opportunity to walk the Labyrinth with
the accompaniment of the Shakuhachi flute and enjoy afternoon tea and
treats. Our time together will open new reservoirs of energy and
insight, a sense of expanded well-being, and the joys that arise through
harmony, peace, and heart-felt connection.

Afternoon Workshop -
Mindful Meditations with Music and the Labyrinth
I have
decided to offer some afternoon get togethers that combine many of
my favourite things - Shakuhachi/Labyrinth/Tea/Trees.
We
will walk the Labyrinth in lovely outdoor settings and listen to a live
Shakuhachi Meditation. I will be offering some instruction in walking
meditation and we will use these teachings in our Labyrinth
walking and will also practice how to integrate this mindful way of
being into our daily life. We will stroll together through some of the
beautiful parks we are so lucky to have here in Toronto and we will
enjoy the wonderful trees around us. Then we will sit down to a
delicious high tea feast of sandwiches, dessert and fabulous tea.
As a
way of showing our gratitude to the trees I will be donating part of the
proceeds from the event to save a tree in the rainforest. I will tell
you about the tree we have saved.
There
are two dates/locations being offered. We will be a small group of six
participants maximum and if need arises I will be setting up additional
dates. I can also arrange a special event if you have a small group that
would like to participate together.

inviting different friends to join me with the playing.
Where: 401

There are chairs but if you would prefer to sit or lie on the floor
please bring a cushion/mat/blanket, whatever will make you feel
comfortable.
The flute
that I play, the Shakuhachi, is an ancient Japanese bamboo flute
traditionally played by monks as a type of Zen. This Zen practice is
called
'Suizen' or blowing Zen. During our music and silent meditation both
players and listeners will focus on our breath to help calm and still
our minds.
The
Shakuhachi is also a wonderful tool for transmitting healing energy. The
sound helps to clear and balance the energy field of both player and
listener.
I will also
be singing and playing some other instruments including my North
American flute and a small Finnish hand harp called a Kantele.
Debbie
Danbrook is the first woman to have mastered the difficult Shakuhachi
flute. She studied in Japan for several years with a Master Player.
Debbie has released 17 CD's of Healing Music, 14 of them specifically
for meditation and energy healing. Debbie offers meditations, Healing
Sessions, concerts and workshops throughout North America and Japan. She
teaches Shakuhachi and meditation in Toronto, Ottawa and Guelph. Debbie
also takes small groups to Japan for music meditations at her favourite
temples. info@healingmusic.com
